iSlate Japanese is a fun way for students to learn and practice Hiragana and Katakana strokes. The app provides the user with practice in stroke order, as well as allowing the user to use their skills in writing common Japanese words and simple phrases.
For iPad models which support it, iSlate Japanese can utilise the Apple Pencil. Alternatively stroke practice can be completed using finger or stylus.
In the Kanji Characters section, iSlate Japanese offers students practice in four areas:
- Basic Hiragana, covering all the main Hiragana letters
- Extended Hiragana, covering all the additional Hiragana letters
- Basic Katakana, covering all the main Katakana letters
- Extended Katakana, covering all the additional Katakana letters
In the Words and Sentences section, students can practice their Hiragana/Katakana in four areas:
Hiragana Strokes: practice sheets which show stroke order for Hiragana
Katakana Strokes: practice sheets which show stroke order for Katakana
Words: a mixture of Hiragana and Katana words to practice
Sentences: a mixture of Hiragana and Katana words to practice
Students can practice their Hiragana/Katakana strokes using a stylus to practice. iSlate Japanese makes use of Apple Pencil on iPad models supporting this. Students can also use their finger to practice writing.
